Genshin Impact codes for August 2023 and how to redeem codes in Genshin Impact

New Genshin Impact codes can provide you with free Primogems, Mora, Hero's Wit, Adventurer's Experience, and more, with some available this August 2023.

There are some semi-permanent active codes in Genshin Impact, whereas others, like the 4.0 livestream codes, will only work for 24 hours (and are limited) before they expire.

As there usually isn't any warning before a working code expires, it's best to know how to redeem codes in Genshin Impact and use all active August 2023 codes as soon as possible.

Genshin Impact codes August 2023

It's version 4.0 update time! That means new codes have been released. Right now, we only have one new code to celebrate the launch of 4.0, and one from 3.8 that will expire soon, but we'll update this page when more are released.

Here's all the current active codes in Genshin Impact:

• 2S84JS839T8R: x60 Primogems and x5 Adventurer's Experience (new!)
• GENSHINGIFT: x50 Primogems and x3 Hero's Wit

Until 26th of September, there's also a collaboration between Discord and Genshin Impact that gives you a code with rewards like Primogems and Eminent Share Bundles if you have Discord Nitro Standard. If you're not currently a Nitro subscriber and are at least Adventure Rank 10, you can get a free month of Discord Nitro by commenting on the relevant hoyolab Discord post.

If 'GENSHINGIFT' doesn't work for you, you might have already redeemed it, as it's one of the oldest free codes in the game. If you're positive you haven't redeemed it, try again the next month, or when the new update releases. If the code still won't work, you will have to contact Genshin Impact's customer service team for assistance.

As always, we'll update this page when any new codes are added, or any more expire. So make sure to redeem these codes while you still can to ensure you don't miss out on free Primogems!

Genshin Impact 4.0 livestream codes

As with every special program, there were new codes provided during the 4.0 livestream. However, they had to be redeemed within 24 hours to claim their rewards, and there were only a limited amount of codes available - so the codes below are now invalid.

If you're yet to claim the rewards, here's what's waiting in your mailbox, depending on what 4.0 livestream code you redeemed:

Our Fontaine guide can help with Fontaine's Reputation and the Fountain of Lucine, and you can also redeem new codes for Primogems if you want Lyney - and check him out on our tier list. For improving Lyney, you'll need lots of Rainbow Rose, and Lynette requires Lumidouce Bell. How to redeem codes in Genshin Impact

To redeem codes in Genshin Impact, you need to be at least Adventure Rank 10. Open chests, and finish main and side quests to level-up your Adventure Rank quickly.

Once you reach Adventure Rank 10, you then have to visit the official Genshin Impact website and log in to the account you wish to redeem the codes on.

If you can't remember what email address is linked to your active account, go to 'Settings' by navigating to the cog symbol on the main menu, then select 'Account' near the bottom of this list. Finally, select 'User Centre' to open a webpage with your User ID number and linked email address displayed.

Alternatively, you can log in with a Google, Apple, Facebook, or Twitter ID if you have linked any of them to your HoYoverse account.

Once you are logged in to the correct email address or linked account, select your server region, type your character name, then enter the code you want to redeem in Genshin Impact. If it works, a 'Redemption Successful' popup will appear.

After redeeming a code, you will receive the free items via in-game mail. Return to the game and select the letter symbol from the main menu to open 'Mail', then either 'Claim' or 'Claim All' to receive your free rewards.

Remember, each redemption code can only be used once per character. So you'll only be able to reuse a code if you you make another character and playthrough.
